Energy Auditing: Are you ready for your check-up?
Energy Auditing reveals the amount of energy used in a building, and where energy is used. Understanding how energy is consumed allows an owner to focus attention toward reducing energy consumption where inefficiencies exist.
You need to make improvements to your building to decrease your energy consumption and reduce your long-term operating costs. You can take advantage of a contractor’s “Free Consultation,” but be warned. A company that manufactures or installs windows will likely tell you that you need all new windows, while a HVAC company will advise you to upgrade your entire HVAC system, and so on. To get truly valuable information, you need an unbiased review using measurable data.
RCx Building Diagnostics offers an objective assessment of your building’s strengths and weaknesses, like a doctor’s whole-health checkup. RCxBD calculates the Energy Use Intensity (or EUI, which is a measurement of energy used per square foot in the building,) of your building, comparing it to similar buildings to determine how well the building is performing. Then we find out where all that energy is going: how much of the money you spend on energy makes it into the space where you live and work, and how much flies right out the windows, doors, and chimney? Armed with this knowledge, you can make solid decisions on where to make your improvements.
RCxBD offers two levels of Energy Auditing: Level I: Walk-Through Analysis, and Level II: Energy Survey and Analysis. These two levels of Energy Auditing follow the ASHRAE Guidelines for Level I and Level II Commercial Building Energy Audits, and comply with LEED® standards. Contact us to find out which is right for you.
Get Started...
Upon completion of the Energy Audit, RCxBD will hand over a full report on current building performance, and a list of recommended building upgrades and/or best building management practices. This final report details how well the current building is operating, and offers ways to achieve your energy goals. The final report will also estimate how your energy bills will change after the building upgrades, and will project the time it will take for you to recoup a return on your investment (ROI).
